Two Canyon Lake seniors named Students of Month

Two Temescal Canyon High School seniors from Canyon Lake were honored Tuesday as the school’s November Students of the Month at a virtual ceremony for Lake Elsinore School District high schools.

Kylie Strange

Kylie Strange was named the Female Student of the Month and Zane Coles was named the Male Student of the Month for the school. Students from other district high schools were also honored at the event.

Kylie is active in both student government and varsity athletics at Temescal Canyon High School. She has been in ASB for four years and serves as the school’s ASB Vice President. She is the team captain of both the varsity volleyball and basketball teams, playing on both teams for three years. She was named the Athlete of the Month last month at the school. Kylie is also the ASL Club president.

Kylie has lived in Canyon Lake her whole life with her family, which includes, in addition to her parents, an older sister and younger brother. She attends Canyon Lake Community Church. Her future plans include attending college and majoring in Education. She wants to be a 2nd Grade teacher.

Zane Coles

Zane is also involved in student government and athletics at Temescal Canyon High School. He has been in ASB for four years and is the Assistant Director of Titan Pride this year. He has been on the varsity baseball team for three years and is on this year’s varsity basketball team.

Zane has lived in Canyon Lake since the 7th Grade with his parents, older brother and younger sister. He will be attending college and plans on majoring in Business.

Historically, the Student of the Month recipients attend a luncheon where they receive the awards. During the pandemic, though, these meetings have been held via Zoom. The Student of the Month Program is sponsored by the Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce which provides scholarships to the Students of the Year, which are chosen from the Student of the Month recipients.
