Fortifying Lighthouse

In an effort to keep the iconic Canyon Lake Lighthouse healthy and strong for years to come, the Canyon Lake POA is fortifying the structure. Crews last week began repairing the 52-year-old lighthouse foundation by pouring a new concrete “stem wall’’ with additional steel reinforcement inside the structure. The lighthouse is made of wood and in order to not be damaged by high water levels, the new interior concrete footing is being extended above the water line. The structure will now be attached completely above the lake level.
