Santa to ski the Main Lake prior to Breakfast with Santa Dec. 12

The Canyon Lake Ski Club and the Canyon Lake POA will be hosting a COVID-19 version of Canyon Lake’s traditional Breakfast with Santa next weekend. The appropriately socially-distanced event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Holiday Harbor.

Santa, Canyon Lake style, flies high recently in preparation for the Canyon Lake Ski Club and Canyon Lake POA Breakfast With Santa event set for next Saturday, Dec. 12. Santa will ski around the lake before ending up at Holiday Harbor where Breakfast Churros will be distributed to the children there.

Instead of the standard sit-down pancake breakfast, the Ski Club will instead be handing out Breakfast Churros to children at Holiday Harbor lined up in cars and golf carts. Typically, the breakfast is held at the smaller North Ski Park, but it needed to be adjusted to accommodate the vehicles in a more spread-out setting.

The two-hour breakfast will begin at 9:00 a.m. after Santa takes to his skis at 8:30 a.m. and skis a loop around the Main Lake from the North Causeway. The Canyon Lake Santa will be skiing and performing tricks in hopes those lakeside will be ready to take photos of the unique holiday event.

Once at Holiday Harbor, Santa and his helpers will greet families in cars or golf carts and hand out churros to children. Socially-distant photo-op opportunities with Santa will be available as he greets every child.

“Let’s all remember to practice safety precautions while still savoring the goodness of the holiday season!” the Ski Club’s Debbie Sacks said.
