Parking lot upgrades taking place in community

For the past two weeks, the POA has been renovating the north ski area and addressing the access by replacing the steep and uneven paths with a new more level pathway from the parking lot. A block wall and the installation of new stairs were completed last week.

A 30-foot ramp with railings on both sides leading to the main dock will replace the existing aged wooden ramp. The picnic area will also be renovated with new tables, shade and a concrete surface. The parking lot will also be paved.

The POA Board of Directors approved $36,810 plus a five percent contingency for the improvements on May 7. The Canyon Lake Ski Club donated $5,000 toward the project.

Work crews were also working on the parking lot at Gault Field this week and work began on the parking lot at Diamond Point Park on Tuesday. The park will be closed Nov. 19 and 20.

Crews will begin working on the equestrian center parking lot shortly. In preparation for the project, there is a detour in place through Gault Field to access the center.
