Pickleball Club hosts Costume Party at courts

Despite the 61-degree weather and chilling winds, 26 Pickleball Club members dressed in a variety of creative and colorful costumes attended the club’s annual Costume Party on Oct. 17.

“Everyone enjoyed playing pickleball under the lights along with the fabulous food spread that was provided by the attendees,” said member Steve Libring.

The Pickleball Club’s upcoming events are as follows:

Nov. 4 through Nov. 10: Pickleball Nationals at Indian Wells

Nov. 11: Bus trip to Hollywood to see two tapings of the Dr. Phil show

Nov. 21: Thanksgiving potluck at the courts

Dec. 14: Parade of Lights Party

Dec. 19: Christmas potluck at the courts

Jan. 16: Sports Jersey Dress-Up at the courts

Feb. 2: Annual Super Bowl Party

Feb. 15: Annual Sweethearts and Singles Tournament

The Pickleball Club welcomes new members. The cost of a three-year membership is $30.

“That’s $10 a year, or 80 cents a month, and you get 140 new friends immediately that want to play pickleball with you and do other social ventures throughout the year,” said Steve. “Besides, the potlucks every month are worth more than the 80 cents and there’s always plenty of leftovers to take home.”
