The normally peaceful Towne Center was filled with little princesses, cartoon characters, monsters and superheroes on Saturday for the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce’s 27th annual Parade of Frights.

Trick-or-treating at more than 50 Towne Center businesses, a visit from Lake Elsinore Storm’s Thunder, a Costume Parade and a Costume Contest were among the activities the fright-free event offered.

Volunteer judges Roanne Grasso, Jeanne O’Dell and Hope Suhr had the difficult task of judging the costumes. The winners are Jaxon Blair, lobster; Madeleine Abel, Little Red Riding Hood; Spencer Balestracci, Big Bad Wolf; Aubree Williams, circus lion; Lilly Griffin, Lucille Ball; and Leah Helvie, vampire school girl. The Costume Contest was sponsored by Coldwell Banker. The winners received gift cards.

Kids who completed their “Treasure Map” and turned it in had the opportunity to win a gift card in a drawing. The winners are Logan Yoakum, Kennedy Gulley, Jack Harper, Logan Lanturman, Adam Steed,  Sophie Asendorf and Rylie Yoakum. The drawing was sponsored by the chamber and Diane Scott.
