Tom’s Farm Family Faire

Tom’s Farm, 23900 Temescal Canyon Rd., is hosting a Family Faire on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 12 to 4 p.m. This event features a fun zone for kids, story time, a petting zoo, live entertainment, vendors, a bubble dance party and more.

Mountain Bike Team

The Elsinore Valley Mountain Bike Team is seeking girls and boys in grades 6th through 12th to join the team. No experience is necessary, training will be provided for all levels. Bike lease program is available. A meeting for riders and parents will be held on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. at Stadium Pizza on Main Street in Lake Elsinore. Wings and Wine Air Show

The Wine and Brew Festival at the French Valley Air Show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the French Valley Airport at 37600 Sky Canyon Dr., Murrieta. This free event features food and beverage options, merchandise and recreational activities for all ages.

Barn Day

The So Cal Mini Horse Sanctuary is hosting an Open House and Barn Day on Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 24793 Los Rancherias Rd. in Hemet to raise funds for the sanctuary. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and younger. The event includes raffles and the opportunity to meet the mini horses that reside at the ranch.

Concert in the Park

Concert in the Park is returning to McVicker Canyon Park, 29355 Grand Ave., Lake Elsinore, on Nov. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring live entertainment by Woody and the Harrelsons. Pack your picnic baskets, bring your blankets and enjoy free entertainment for all ages under the stars. Alcohol and pets are not permitted in the park. Santa’s Hoof Camp

Experience the magic of Santa’s Hoof Camp at Countryside Marketplace (Newport Road and Haun Road) on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. This free event features reindeers, giant snowflakes, photos with Santa, face painting and more.

Turkey Trot

Trot before you gobble. The Lake Elsinore 5K run/walk Turkey Trot will be held on Thursday, Nov. 28, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the levee of the Diamond Stadium, 500 Diamond Dr., Lake Elsinore. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes. A prize will be awarded for the most creative outfit. Registration is free and will take place on the morning of the event. Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Lamb’s Fellowship, 21901 Railroad Canyon Rd., Lake Elsinore, will be offering a free Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. For reservations, call the church at 951-471-3807.

Chronic Illness Support

The Chronic Illness Support Group meets on the first Monday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Canyon Lake Senior Center. All ages are welcome to attend.

The group provides the opportunity to share and receive support from others who have chronic conditions, whether from illness or physical issues. For more information, contact Steven Prince at 949-293-2919.

Farmers Market

The Canyon Lake Farmers Market operates every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the upper section of the Towne Center parking lot.

Caregivers Connection

Caregivers Connection is an outreach for those caring for a loved one with dementia, Alzheimer’s and other diseases of the aging. JoAnn Wickerath and Bev Haney lead a group with informational talks, videos and fellowship.

This is a great opportunity to speak with other caregivers and share information, tips and experiences. Meetings are held at Canyon Lake Community Church in Building C. For dates and times, contact JoAnn Wickerath at 951-679-7736 or Bev Haney at 951-764-1730.

Lioness Bingo Fundraiser

Sponsored by the Canyon Lake Lioness Club, bingo at the Canyon Lake Senior Center is held monthly on the first and third Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Due to state law, players must be 18 or older to play. The cost of admission is $10 per six-sheet set; special games are available for $1 each. Menifee Historical Museum

The Menifee Valley Historical Museum contains displays about Canyon Lake history, provided by Canyon Lake pioneers, Don and Elinor Martin, who sometimes serve as docents.

Bereavement Support

A 13-week bereavement program started on Aug. 19. Sessions are held on Mondays in Building A at Canyon Lake Community Church. Choose between two session times, 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 6:30 to 8 p.m. Grief Share provides helpful information on grief-related topics.

Attendees will discover how helpful it is to be around people who are looking for encouragement, direction and support. Many from the fellowship and community have attended in the past and have found the information shared through the videos and workbooks helpful. Steering Wheel Covers

The Canyon Lake Lioness Club offers custom-made steering wheel covers made of many different materials and patterns that keep steering wheels from becoming too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. The price is $8 for one and $15 for two. Profits from this project go toward the club’s ongoing philanthropic projects. For more information, contact Laverne Cann at 951-244-5715.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a program that teaches and gives one tools on how to address their hurts, habits and hang-ups so that they can move forward and find their purpose and a life filled with joy. Participants discover that they are not alone in what they are going through and find people to walk alongside them. Celebrate Recovery meets every Sunday at 6 p.m. in Building C at Canyon Lake Community Church. They offer Celebrate Recovery (recovery for adults 18 and older); The Landing (recovery for teens); Celebration Place (recovery for kids); and free childcare. Needlework Group

Canyon Lakers are invited to bring their knitting and crocheting supplies and projects to the senior center on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, contact Betty Cannavino at 951-244-4126.

Breast Cancer Support

Bosom Buddies is a breast cancer support group in Canyon Lake led by Janelle Basham and Kimberly Slingerland. The pair mentor, educate and support newly-diagnosed breast cancer patients during their journey. For more information, visit clbosombuddies.com.

Genealogy Research

The Lake Elsinore Genealogical Society (LEGS) business and program meetings are held

monthly on the second Thursday of each month, except July and August, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lakeland Village Community Center, 16275 Grand Ave., Lake Elsinore. Meetings are free and open to the public. MOPS

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) meets on the first and third Tuesdays at 9 a.m. at Canyon Lake Community Church. MOPS seeks to support mothers during the early years of their children’s lives. By connecting with other moms and mentor moms, craft projects and guest speakers, women are encouraged in their physical, emotional and spiritual journeys. Childcare is provided. The moms fellowship over hot coffee and a warm breakfast, then enjoy a speaker or craft. Those desiring “coffee talk” are invited to contact Karla Holenbeck at 951-317-6803.

Sewing, Quilting Group

Residents are invited to the senior center for sewing and quilting on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring a project and sewing machine, or just visit and check it out. For more information, contact Terri Ireland at 951-246-2571.

Women’s Circles

Women’s Circles are small groups of women who meet once a month in each other’s homes or in Building C at Canyon Lake Community Church. They pray and support missionaries and pray for and encourage one another. Being a member of a Women’s Circle provides an opportunity for small group fellowship. Faith Circle meets the third Monday at 7 p.m.; Julia Circle meets the second Monday at 10:30 a.m.; Priscilla Circle meets the first Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.; Sonshine Circle meets the third Monday at 9:30 a.m.; Sunset Circle meets the second Sunday at 5:30 p.m.; Love Circle meets the second Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. For more information about the Women’s Circles, contact Circle Coordinator Phyllis Duncan at 951-674-4436.
