Letter: Mermaid Festival

Editor, The Friday Flyer

On behalf of the Woman’s Club, I would like to thank all who attended and/or participated in the Mermaid Festival on Sept. 21, and in particular, the Canyon Lake Yacht Club for providing the ever-popular Pirate Ship Battle since the beginning. Without the community, the club events would not be the success that they are.

At our June 2019 meeting, the club donated $42,000 in contributions to local charities and for scholarships for education. Again, we could not achieve this quite significant amount without the support of the community.

In addition, I would like to thank all of our 2019 festival sponsors: Platinum Plumbing, Team Stites, Aqua Lilypad, ABC Events, Inc., Pepe’s, Super Zinggs realtors, Carmel and Joe Lemke, Michelle Williams, Canyon Lake Hair Design, Caregiver Provider, McKee Plumbing, The Inspired Hippie, Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, DiMond Group Real Estate, Bombshells, Femister family, Royal Bash Event Design and Planning, Aprile DeAnne Entertainment, Cheryl Maxwell, OutKast Printing.

I would also like to thank all of the Woman’s Club members, their significant others and their friends and family for all of the volunteer hours and donations of goods and services that go into putting on an event of this size.
Lastly, I’d like to thank The Friday Flyer for its ongoing support of the club.

Our upcoming events include our annual Witches Afternoon Tea, a ladies only Halloween-themed lunch held at the senior center on Oct. 19 and our annual Holiday Home Tour on the Dec. 7.
