After Lunch Bunch

Last Friday’s format was Individual Tin Whistle. The results are as follows:

“A” Flight: 1st place: Mike Pinto, 26: 2nd place: Vern Kelch, 23.

“B” Flight: 1st place: Jim Paulis, 27; Tom D’Amato, 25.

The winners of the Skins competition are Mike Pinto on hole 9 and Jim Paulis on hole 15. The Closest to the Pin awards went to Harland Newby on hole 8 and Chuck Hudson on hole 15.

The ALB is on hiatus until the 2020 season begins on Nov. 1. The format will be Individual Tin Whistle with players picking their own foursomes.

ALB’s Annual Tournament will be held on Monday, Nov. 25. To qualify, golfers must have played 12 games during the 2019 season.

The format will be Individual Tin Whistle; tee time is 8 a.m.

Entry is free, as is the prize money and lunch that follows.

9ers Golf Club

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. Ladies who are interested in playing golf and making new friends are invited to play; all levels of golfers are welcome. Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club promotes the sport of golf bringing together men, women and juniors in an atmosphere of education, camaraderie, fairness and competition in a friendly, family-oriented environment. The club hosts beginner and youth clinics, tournaments and social events throughout the year. The club’s official golf day is Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m. Some members schedule golf days on Mondays, Fridays or Saturdays at 11:30 a.m.

The tournament director works closely with Golf Pro Pat Kemball and his staff to assure tournaments are balanced. Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association. Men’s Golf Club

Members of the Men’s Golf Club meet for play every Wednesday morning. Signups are taken between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. In addition to Wednesday games, the club sponsors eight major tournaments throughout the year. Dues include membership in the Southern California Golf Association. Canyon Lake residents and property owners age 18 and older and any member of the public who purchases an outside annual golf membership are eligible to join the club. Women’s Golf Club

The Women’s Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association. The club meets on Tuesdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club between 7 and 7:30 a.m. to tee off at 8 a.m. for 18 holes of golf. The club’s mission is promoted through camaraderie, social events, recognition and tournaments throughout the year. Women in the community are invited to participate in all the club has to offer. Adult Golf Lessons

Adult golf lessons are offered seven days a week. Lessons are $50 for a 30-minute lesson, $75 for a one-hour lesson, $210 for three one-hour lessons and $300 for five one-hour lessons. Reservations are required. For reservations and group pricing, call 951-244-6841, ext. 820.

Junior Golf Lessons

Junior golf lessons are available for children ages seven to 17. Lessons are $35 per 30-minute lesson. Reservations are taken at the Golf Pro Shop.

Free Round of Golf

Canyon Lake residents can play their first round of golf for free. This offer is valid for new customers only and only one person per tract and lot.

Golf and Lunch Special

Residents and non-residents can enjoy one round of golf, practice on the range, a complimentary tour of the course and lunch at the country club for only $55. Golf cart fee is included.

Golf Lessons Special

The golf course is offering a special of unlimited golf lessons for one month for $350. This special is available to residents and non-residents. For more information, contact Bryan Carlson at 951-595-5463.

Golf Pro Shop

The Golf Pro Shop at the country club features the latest in golf clubs from Ping, Mizuno, Callaway and Titleist. It also stocks Nike, EP Pro, Antigua and Footjoy golf apparel. Canyon Lake Property Owners Association members receive a 20 percent discount on apparel.

Golf Course Closure

The golf course will be closed Oct. 7 through Oct. 27 for annual overseeding and maintenance. The parking lot will also be renovated during this time. To protect the seedlings and allow the new grass to become established, golf cart drivers are asked to stay on the path for approximately three weeks after the golf course reopens. The facility is set to reopen on Oct. 28.
