Golf course offers new mode of transportation

The Canyon Lake Golf and Country Club now offers Finn Scooters, a new cutting-edge mode of golf transportation. Canyon Lake is the first golf course in Southern California to offer the scooters.

The single-rider scooters help to speed up the pace of play with an average pace of 7.5 minutes per hole, making a sub-two-hour round within reach.

“It is time to rethink golf,” Rick Reimers, CEO and inventor of Finn Scooters, said. “The game is at a tipping point: the young people we need in the game don’t have 4.5 hours to spend on the course. Pairing Finn with golfers with a desire to play ready golf can cut playing time in half.”

The virtually silent electric scooters have GPS tracking for security, turf-friendly tires, batteries that last 36 holes and require less space than traditional carts to store and charge.

There are four scooters available for rent at Golf Shop Pro Shop. They are rented on a first-come, first-served basis and can’t be reserved. The rental fee per scooter is $31 for 18-holes or $18 for 9-holes. The fee does not include golf.

Before using the scooter, customers must sign a disclaimer and watch a three-minute instructional video.

The scooters may only be used at the golf course and are not permitted for use inside the community.
