CL JWC to host Blood Drive, Rocktoberfest

The Jr. Women’s Club invites the community to attend its two upcoming events, a Blood Drive and Rocktoberfest.

The club is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive this Sunday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge. To schedule an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code canyonlakejwc or call 1-800-REDCROSS. To streamline your donation experience and save up to 15 minutes, visit redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to complete a pre-donation reading and health history questions on the day of your appointment.

The 5th annual Rocktoberfest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. This year’s theme is Red, White and Brews. Patriotic and Oktoberfest attire and costumes are encouraged.  

Rocktoberfest 2019 will feature beer tastings from local craft microbreweries, food and merchandise vendors, live music featuring The Bad Dancers, a Weiner Dog Race, a Beer Stein Holding Contest and a Cornhole Tournament.

Beer tasting stamp cards cost $25. Tastings are for those 21 years old and over. A picture ID and a wristband will be required. Tips will be donated to local veterans associations.

JWC is a non-profit philanthropy club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need, donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake and more. Monthly club meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month.
