14th annual CL Car Show is one week away

Hundreds of cars will roll into Canyon Lake for the 14th annual Canyon Lake Car Show on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge. The Car Show features 300 pre-1977 classic and custom cars and trucks, awards, more than 50 vendors, food booths, raffles and a water ski show on the main lake featuring Canyon Lake’s ShowCal Skiers.

Breakfast burritos, street tacos, bacon-wrapped hot dogs and shaved ice will be among the food available for purchase. The lodge will be offering a breakfast buffet, lunch menu and margaritas in commemorative cups.

Raffle winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m.

Cars are judged by peers, industry professionals, Canyon Lake POA staff and city staff. Canyon Lake Car Club members are not eligible for awards.

Car registration is $30 and includes a logo T-shirt, goody bag and a commemorative magnetic dash plaque. To register, mail the registration form and a check made payable to Canyon Lake Car Show to CLCS PMB 410, 31566 Railroad Canyon Rd., Canyon Lake, CA 92587. The registration form can also be downloaded from the club’s website at canyonlakecarclub.com.

As a nonprofit organization, the Canyon Lake Car Show donates all proceeds to various groups and causes. Past recipients include the Canyon Lake Emergency Preparedness Committee, the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, Santa Rosa Academy, Canyon Lake Little League, Menifee Youth Foundation, Lamb’s Fellowship and Helping Our People of Elsinore, to name a few.
