Pickleball Club bids farewell to founding members

The Canyon Lake Pickleball Club said goodbye to two of their founding club members on Saturday. A farewell party was held at the pickleball courts for Sandy and Ling Kan, who sold their home and will be moving this week. The club didn’t want them to leave Canyon Lake without playing as a group one more time.

Forty-five club members attended the farewell party and enjoyed one last game with Sandy and Ling. The fun-filled day included a potluck, picture taking and sharing great memories.

In 2016, the Canyon Lake Pickleball Club formed and Sandy immediately volunteered to be one of the original board members. Sandy and Ling were early risers and always on the pickleball courts before anyone else, warming up and ready to greet newcomers with a smile and a pleasant game.

“Ling and Sandy will be moving to their new home in Cypress but have so many friends here still in Canyon Lake that we expect they will return often to visit and play as our guests,” said Pickleball Club President Steve Libring.
