Freedom Run features car show, vendor fair

Menifee’s annual Freedom Run will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 27587 La Piedra Road. Hosted by Santa Rosa Academy, the Freedom Run features races, a car show, vendor fair, food, drawings, games, rock painting, a photo booth, emergency vehicles and activities for kids.

The 5K Race starts at 8 a.m. The 3K Race starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt and swag bag while supplies last. The top three winners will be announced between 11 and 11:30 a.m.

A vendor fair and car show will follow the races at 9 a.m. There will be more than 40 vehicles on display at the car show. More than 15 Canyon Lakers are participating in the show. Voting starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. The winners will be announced at approximately 12:15 p.m. Registration is $25 per car.

This year’s Freedom Run theme is centered around honoring Patriots Day. Many of the vendors are wounded and disabled veterans, first responders and active-duty military personnel. There will be several non-profit vendors who will be giving their proceeds to programs that assist veterans and active-duty military personnel.

A dedication wall will be featured inside the Freedom Village Vendor Fair where visitors can dedicate a portion of the wall to veterans and first responders.

There will be a passport drawing with prizes valued at more than $800. Passports cost $5 each. To be eligible for the drawing, participants must collect stamps at 15 various booths. Drawings will be held every 30 minutes.
