JWC

The Jr. Women’s Club will kick-off its 2019/2020 season on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 6:30 p.m. To attend, contact Heather Rose at 951-591-8168 or Jenniver Lawrence at 949-370-8479. The Jr. Women’s Club is a non-profit philanthropic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund scholarship programs, help local families in need and donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake. Tuesday Work Group

The Tuesday Work Group consists of more than 40 volunteers dedicated to mostly improving the golf course. TWG meets every Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the golf maintenance yard during the months of October through June. Committee board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. For more information, contact Don Norris at 714-356-4930.

Roadrunners RV Club

Any resident who owns an RV is welcome to join the Roadrunners Club. Monthly dinner meetings are held on the second Tuesday at the lodge during winter months and at Roadrunner Park during summer months. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m. In addition to monthly dinner meetings, the club takes six to eight trips per year. More than 125 members belong to the club. Travel Club

Annual membership is $10 per person. Membership is not a requirement to participate in the club’s travel adventures; however, members receive discounted pricing on most trips and the first opportunity to reserve a space. Upcoming events include Beach Blanket Bingo Barbecue Dinner-Dance on Sept. 27 at Holiday Harbor Park, a trip to New Orleans Oct. 6 through Oct. 10, a Los Angeles Haunted History Tour on Oct. 21 and a tour of Dublin, Ireland, Edinburgh, Scotland, and London, United Kingdom Dec. 26 through Jan. 7. Cub Scouts

Twirlers Square Dance Club

Dances are held every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and once a month on the second Sunday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Kay Ceniceros Senior Center in Menifee. For more information, contact Jackie Brown at 951-694-3650.

Woman’s Club

The Woman’s Club will kick-off its 2019/2020 season on Sept. 18. Meetings are held  monthly on the third Wednesday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Vendor hour starts at 9 a.m., meeting starts at 10 a.m. and lunch is served at 12 p.m. Lunch is $14. For lunch reservations or membership information, email canyonlakewomansclub@gmail.com.

The Woman’s Club is a non-profit, non-partisan, philanthropic service group dedicated to helping others less fortunate. The club holds several events throughout the year to raise money for local charities and for educational scholarships for CL girls and women.

Pinochle Club

The Pinochle Club was formed in 1989. The group meets on Thursday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. at the senior center. The entry fee is $3. Beginners and new players are welcome. For more information, contact Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. The club puts on several events throughout the year to benefit the community and raise funds for philanthropic donations. Events are free or low-cost to attend. CLAMS

CLAMS is a non-profit organization that has been in existence for more than 40 years. The club awards scholarships to deserving Canyon Lake high school male seniors and donates to other Canyon Lake clubs that help those in need. Membership is open to all Canyon Lake men who have a desire for friendship, volunteering, fundraising and fun times. Regular meetings are held on the third Wednesday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. during the months of January, February, March, May, October and November. Car Club

The Car Club holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Anyone owning a pre-1977 vehicle is welcome. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting members learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. CoEd Softball

The Canyon Lake Sunday CoEd Softball League is for players 18 years of age and older. Games are played on Sundays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Gault Field. For more information, contact Gary Rauch at 951-609-8220.

Bosom Buddies

Mommy N Me

Mexican Train Players

Mexican Train Players meet on Wednesdays and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. at the senior center. Beginners are welcome. For more information, contact Louie Lancia at 951-244-4317.

Triathlon and Fitness Club

The Triathlon and Fitness Club promotes healthy lifestyles through swimming, cycling, running and other cross-training activities. In addition to triathlon events and group practices, the club hosts the community 5K/10K Fun Run, Tour de Canyon Lake bike ride and the Paddle and Pedal Regatta. Home Owners Club

Organized in 1972, the Home Owners Club promotes and protects the best interest of Canyon Lake home and property owners. Sponsored community events include the Home Decorating Contest and Meet the Candidates. Annual Membership is $10. For more information, contact LaRue McNamara at 951-244-6470.

Kids Club

The Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. Those who purchase a 10-class punch card will receive two classes free. Punch cards can be purchased in class. CLAA

The Canyon Lake Art Association is a non-profit organization formed in 1976 with the primary purpose of promoting understanding and appreciation of the visual arts in the community, encouraging advanced study in the field of art and providing exhibits and programs for local artists.
Meetings are held September through June on the fourth Monday at 7 p.m. at the senior center and are highlighted with demonstrations and/or paintings. Membership is open to individuals ages 18 and older. Annual membership is $10. For more information, contact Joanie Evarts at 951-454-0833.

Lions Club

The Lions Club meets monthly on the second Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the county club. The club was formed on Jan. 23, 1975, and is part of the largest service organization in the world. The members collect used eyeglasses to aid in the organization’s goal to help those with sight problems. For more information, contact Don Riley at 951-244-9766.

Pickleball Club

Community Theatre

The purpose of the Canyon Lake Community Theatre is to provide the community with access to the performing arts by providing a platform and showcase for local talent. The club engages and entertains the community by providing theatre experience for all ages, from all-youth productions to its musicals under the stars. ShowCal Skiers

ShowCal Skiers is a sanctioned club and California’s first and only show ski club. Skills training is taught for all aspects of the ski show, including audio/visual, announcing/hosting, drivers/power team, safety coordinators and equipment. Ski disciplines include two skis, slalom, barefoot, trick, shoe ski, swivel, ballet, jump, doubles, trios, adagio, human pyramids, ATB, kneeboard, disc, wakeboard, wakeskate, foil, freestyle and hot dogging. Members incorporate all types of performance artistry in their water-ski shows. Ski Club

The Ski Club is comprised of water skiers of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. The club hosts several ski competitions and community events throughout the year, including Breakfast with Santa, Polar Bear Day and Learn to Ski Day. The Ski Club was formed in 1970 and is the largest 3-event USA Water Ski sanctioned club in the U.S. For more information, visit canyonlakeskiclub.com.

Chair Volleyball

The Senior Chair Volleyball Club is for seniors 50 years of age and older. The club promotes fitness fun and the spirit of competition through the organized playing of chair volleyball. The game is played using a beach ball and a 5 ft. net while players are seated. The club participates in the Riverside Senior Games and holds social events throughout the year. Members meet weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Men’s Softball

The Canyon Lake Men’s Softball League is for players 18 years of age and older. League fees cost $450 per team, per season. There are four seasons per year. Games are played on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Gault Field. Each team plays one 60-minute game; one team plays a doubleheader. For more information, contact Joey Gambino at 951-570-0666.

Choraleers

The Choraleers is a vocal group of men and women who enjoy singing in a choral group that performs spring and fall concerts, including combinations of selected singers and solo performances. Membership includes more than 35 members, as well as a director and pianist. Membership is open to residents and those in nearby communities. CLAWS

Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) group bunco on the second Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Street Carts of CL

Street Carts of Canyon Lake is a golf cart club that holds community events to raise funds for local charities and Canyon Lake families in need. The club hosts the annual Golf Cart Parade, Poker Run and Golf Cart Drive-In Movie Night. Lifetime membership is $25. For more information, contact Mike Shroyer at 951-244-9446.

Yacht Club

Yacht Club meetings are held quarterly at the lodge. Cocktail hour is 5 p.m., dinner is served at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. Dinner is $20. Annual membership is $15. Boat ownership is not required for membership. Members enjoy fun events throughout the year, including the Moonlight Cruise, Progressive Dinner, Parade of Lights and monthly sunset cruises. Bassmasters Club

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Monthly tournaments are held on the first Saturday of each month. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low-stress, friendly, competitive environment are welcome to join. Tennis Club

The Tennis Club holds social play on Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m. Social play is a free activity open to all levels of players and is a great way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. Lioness Club

Wakeboard Club

Founded in 1998, the Wakeboard Club caters to everyone from beginner to the most advanced rider. The club promotes the sport by hosting tournaments and sponsoring Learn to Ride Day events. For more information, visit canyonlakewakeboardclub.com.

Little League

Canyon Lake and Canyon Hills residents ages four to 13 are eligible to play. Kids who do not reside within the boundaries but attend Cottonwood Elementary or Canyon Lake Middle School also are eligible. The season runs from February through May.
