Norred places 9th in nation in Individual Swivel

Representing the West, Canyon Laker Stacy Norred placed 9th in the nation in Individual Swivel at the 2019 Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 National Show Ski Tournament. The event, held Aug. 9 through Aug. 11 at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Indiana, is sanctioned through USA Waterski and Wake Sports and the National Show Ski Association.

Skiers from six regions, West, Midwest, Central, Southern, Eastern and Wisconsin, competed.

Stacy has been a member of Canyon Lake’s ShowCal Skiers since 2014. ShowCal Skiers is the first and only Show Ski Club in California. Stacy currently serves as the club’s president.

Stacy has been skiing for more than 35 years and competing for more than 20 years. She is a Guinness World Records holder for being a part of the most synchronized dance waterskiers being towed by a single boat. She was one of the 48 women towed behind the boat. This was a part of the Chain of Records, where skiers from all over the world came together to break Guinness World Records in multiple ski events.

Stacy has competed in multiple Swivel Ski tournaments across the nation and has placed multiple times. She plans to compete in the Flaunt It Swivel Tournament on Nov. 9 in Winter Haven, Florida.

You can catch Stacy in action on Aug. 25 during the ShowCal Skiers practice at the jump lagoon on the north side of the lake.
