Senior Chair Volleyball hosts Ice Cream Social

More than 30 members of the Canyon Lake Senior Chair Volleyball Club gathered at the senior center on Saturday for an Ice Cream Social, featuring root beer floats, ice cream and all the fixings. The cool treats were a welcome relief from the 100-degree weather.

The event was organized by Karen Bevans with the help of Pat Englehardt, PJ Anderson and Maureen Lancia.

The club invites the community to its next social event, a Storm baseball game on Aug. 21. To reserve tickets, contact Karen Bevans at 714-321-1038.

The Senior Chair Volleyball Club is for seniors 50 years of age and older. The club promotes fitness fun and the spirit of competition through the organized playing of chair volleyball.

The game is played using a beach ball and a 5 ft. net while players are seated. The club participates in the Riverside Senior Games and holds social events throughout the year.

Members meet weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Competitive play starts at 8 a.m.; regular play starts at 9:30 a.m.

For more information, contact President Tom Green at 951-764-7688.
