Work continues on Goetz Road block wall

Work continues on the new Goetz Road block wall at East Port. The scope of this project includes constructing approximately 686 linear feet of reinforced eight-foot concrete block wall along Goetz Road. The wall will be tan split faced on both sides and will tie into the existing masonry wall at the east gate. A waterproofing and anti-graffiti application will be applied.

The POA has planned to build a block wall along Goetz Road for several years. The wall will update the appearance of the east side of the community so that it is more aesthetically in line with neighboring communities, which will help maintain property values. Additionally, it will provide more security and better sound attenuation for nearby residents.

The POA Board of Directors approved the construction contract to Sudweeks Construction for $242,264 plus a four percent contingency, engineering and permit fees totaling $270,725.81 to come from the Capital Improvement Fund.

Work began on June 20. Due to a temporary delay, the completion date was pushed back to September. Traffic is not anticipated to be affected during this project.
