Madera shoots his first hole-in-one

Leroy Madera was understandably elated when he shot a hole-in-one on hole 2 during a Men’s Golf Club game on June 26. It is his first hole-in-one. Leroy has been playing golf since he was first introduced to the game in 1953.

At 90 years old, Leroy was the youngest player in the foursome that day. He was joined by Jim Magill, 93, Bob Clow, 92 and Harry Larson, 92.

All the club members enjoyed a free drink in Leroy’s honor compliments of the Men’s Golf Club.

According to the National Hole-in-One Registry, the odds of an average amateur golfer making a hole-in-one are roughly 12,000 to one.
