Poker Run raises money for CL families in need

Street Carts of Canyon Lake held its community golf cart Poker Run fundraiser on Saturday. More than 150 people participate in this event that helped raise $3,487 for Canyon Lake families in need.

The run started at Sierra Park where participants picked up a score sheet and drew their first card. From Sierra Park, participants traveled at their own pace to Diamond Point Park, Roadrunner Beach, Sunset Beach and Holiday Harbor Park, drawing a card at each of the checkpoints. The run ended back at Sierra Park where the winners were announced.

With a full house, Angie Bazaldua won first place. Michael Bazaldua came in second place, followed by Robert Ehlers in third place. The winners received gift cards.

The raffle winners are Donna Ritchie, Dana Buckley, Brandon Karpowitz, Kristy Levinger, Joe Bein, Chris Alvis, Jessica Ehlers and Victor Vinci.

Street Carts President Mike Shroyer thanks Todd and Debbie Morrison for helping to organize the event, the poker dealers who volunteer their time, Joe and Sally Pizzo for donating gift cards, Lake Lyf for donating raffle prizes and all those who participated in the Poker Run to help make the event a success.
