Kids learn about tennis in week-long Jr. Tennis Program

Twenty-two kids ages four through 16 learned the “fun”damentals of tennis in a week-long Jr. Tennis Program taught by pros Pete Walrod and Meghan Dizon. The program was offered to kids who wanted to learn the game of tennis or improve their tennis skills.

The Pee Wee class, for ages four to six, focused on ball control skills, catching, throwing and basic stroke skills. The Junior Strokes class, for kids ages seven to 16, focused on ball control skills, basic stroke skills, gameplay, strategy, light running and agility drills.

A second summer Jr. Tennis Program will be offered July 15 through 19. The Pee Wee class will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m., followed by the Junior Strokes class from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Registration is $50 for the Pee Wee class and $125 for the Junior Strokes class.
