Letters: Thank You

Editor, The Friday Flyer

On behalf of the Pickleball Club, I wanted to thank the community for their overwhelming support of pickleball and recent club activities. Specifically, we want to thank the community, both adults and children, for supporting pickleball.

Our Junior Clinic was a great success last week with 17 new children from ages six to 15 participating and learning pickleball skills and play. Three youngsters won a raffle for pickleball paddles, which were graciously donated by several members of the club.

Additional thanks go out to the club members for giving back and teaching these kids.

The club also received $1200 in donations for the raffle of the Aqua Lily Pad from members of the Pickleball Club and from the community at Fiesta Day and Taco Tuesday. The drawing was held on Thursday, June 20, at the monthly pickleball potluck and the winner was Jason Libring.

Fiesta Day again the community supported our club with their coffee purchases and we thank them wholeheartedly for stopping by our booth. And finally, we want to thank the POA Board of Directors and the POA staff for their continued support of pickleball and the recent additions to help finish off the court and make them the nicest courts in Southern California.

I urge those who still want to explore what pickleball is to come by the courts or Club Rush on July 20 and we’ll take signups for personally teaching beginner adults the game and welcome them to the world of pickleball.

Again, thank you all for the continued support and donations, the funds will be returned to our community in the form of scholarships for seniors going off to college or local charities in need.

Steve Libring
Pickleball Club President
