July 4th Happy Camp lottery starts June 8

Happy Camp is just yards away from where the fireworks are launched on July 4th, making it one of the most popular spots for viewing Canyon Lake’s spectacular fireworks show. Due to its popularity, the POA holds a lottery to give members an equal opportunity to win a campsite reservation for the holiday.

Canyon Lake POA members may register to be in the lottery between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. June 8 through June 14. There is only one lottery entry allowed per tract-lot and members must in “good standing” with the POA.

The lottery will be held at the campground on June 15 at 10 a.m. Members must be present at the lottery with a valid POA ID card for a chance to win. There is a three-day minimum reservation required and reservations are not site specific. Upon being issued a reservation for the holiday weekend, a $30 non-refundable deposit is required.

Happy Camp holiday rates are $58 for water-front sites with full hookups, $53 for off-water sites with full hookups and $48 for tent sites.

Holiday Harbor Park is another popular spot for viewing the fireworks show. The POA will hold a table lottery on June 22 at 9 a.m. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall building. Participants must sign up between June 15 and June 21 at the POA office.

There are a total of 15 table reservations to win. There is no charge for table reservations. To enter, members must be in “good standing” with the POA. There is only one lottery entry allowed per tract-lot. Members must be present at the lottery.

Upon being issued a reservation confirmation for the table, a sign with the winning names will be taped to the table on July 4.

Reservations are good from 8 a.m. until park closure. Seating at the amphitheater will be first-come, first-served. The park will open at 6 a.m. For additional information, contact the Activities department at 951-244-6841.
