Buddy is an eight-year-old Great Pyrenees mix looking for an active family to call his own. His caretakers say he is very sweet and playful. He enjoys walks and is great with other dogs. Because of his size, he would prefer to have older children in the home. Buddy is neutered and ready for adoption. His intake number is 316349. Reference picture: Buddy.

Peter Pan is an eight-week-old kitty who was attacked by a dog after being left exposed to the elements near the shelter. When the shelter staff found him in the morning, they discovered he had suffered a traumatic hernia and was rushed to emergency surgery. He is now recovering with a foster family. All dog and cat adoption fees include a microchip, basic shelter vaccines (excluding rabies) and a free veterinarian check-up. All cats/kittens, pit bulls and Chihuahua adoptions are just $5 (spay/neuter fees, if applicable, are additional).

For adoption or fostering, contact Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV) at 951-674-0618. The shelter is located at 33751 Mission Trail in Wildomar. Hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter offers animals for adoption as well as providing animal control and spay/neuter services.

Low cost vaccinations and $20 microchipping are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at AFV’s Low Cost Spay/ Neuter Clinic at 29001 Bastron Ave., Lake Elsinore. Walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, call 951-674-7729 (SPAY) or 951-374-3491.
