Summer camps for kids offered through POA

The Canyon Lake POA is offering a variety of camps this summer for kids. Kids ages seven through 12 are invited to learn how to draw cartoons and comics in Cartoon Camp with Cartoonist Brian Manning.

The camp will be held June 10 through June 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Activities Room at East Port Park. Registration is $100. Signups are taken at the POA office.

Art Camp for kids ages five through 12 will be held June 17 through June 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Activities Room at East Port Park.

During this week-long camp, students will acquire skills, knowledge and confidence in their artistic abilities. Registration is $100 and $75 for each additional sibling. Signups are taken at the POA office. Space is limited, early registration is recommended.

Splash into summer with swim lessons and water polo classes. Swimming lessons run from June 17 to Aug 2. Lessons are 30 minutes; choose starting time of 10:15 or 11 a.m. There will be no lessons from July 1 to July 5. Registration is $80 per week and $50 for a second week or additional child. Purchase two weeks and receive the third week free. Only one free week per household. For class availability, contact the pool office at 951-244-6841, ext 617.

Water polo classes run from June 17 to Aug. 2. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is $55 per week. Purchase two weeks and receive the third week free. Only one free week per household. All additional weeks cost $45 per week. Participants must be able to swim the full length of the pool, 25 yards.
