Eighteen-year-old Krista McClean is the recipient of the Canyon Lake Choraleers 2019 scholarship. Krista was presented with a $500 scholarship on May 18 during the Choraleers “Night at the Phantom of the Opera” production, which she starred in.

The Springs Charter School senior plans to major in musical theatre at California State University Chico. Krista said her dream job is to perform in musical theatre professionally.

Krista joined the Choraleers eight months ago and hopes to continue performing with the group while she attends college. She has been performing with the Canyon Lake Community Theater group since she was six years old and was recently cast as Belle in the group’s upcoming production of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Krista, a former sixteen-year resident of Canyon Lake, resides in Menifee with her parents Sharon and Richard McClean.
