Girls 18U tennis team advances to Sectionals

The Canyon Lake Boat Racers 18 and under girls tennis team coached by Pete Walrod and Bobby Kielty went undefeated in league play this year with a margin of 87 games.

The team went 8-0 against the cities of Temecula, Murrieta, Riverside, Hesperia, Fontana, Corona, San Bernardino and Yucaipa, advancing them to Sectionals where they will play against some of the best teams in Southern California on June 1 and June 2 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

“All of the teams that they will be playing against won their league, so it should be some excellent competition,” said Kielty. “If they can win at sectionals, they will be crowned the top team in Southern California.”

With 10 players, the team is the largest in the Riverside/San Bernardino County League.

The players are Haley Kielty, Kaylin Kielty, Amanda Martilla, Brianna Martilla, Samantha Treat, Gracie Sell, Kassidy Blount, Chloe Albright, River Walkington and Summer Walkington.
