2019 Fiesta Day theme remembers Pearl Harbor

The Fiesta Day Committee members have been busy planning this year’s event. Fiesta Day takes place annually on the Saturday before Memorial Day and attracts 5,000 to 8,000 people.

This year’s theme is “Fiesta Day Celebrates Hawaii, Remembering Pearl Harbor.” With this theme in mind, the Fiesta Day Committee is planning a variety of activities and entertainment to make this year’s event unique.

Fiesta Day kicks off at 9 a.m. with an old-fashioned, hometown parade. The parade starts at Canyon Lake Drive North and Mayflower Drive, making its way to Vacation Drive where it will turn right and continue to its end point at Lighthouse Drive. This year’s grand marshals are Nancy and Ted Horton.

At the conclusion of the parade, the fun continues on the lodge grounds with entertainment, music, food concessions, vendor booths, a kids zone, stilt walkers, a caricature artist, Polynesian dancers and more. The beach area will feature a zip line, volcano wall and bird show. Canyon Lake’s ShowCal Skiers will be performing on the main lake at 1 p.m.
