Jr. Bassmasters Tourney winners announced

The Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club hosted its Jr. Bassmasters Tournament on Apr. 28. Four teams of kids ages 15 and under participated. The tournament is a qualifier for the Junior Angler State Championship, which will be held on May 25 at the San Joaquin River Delta. The club provided three boats with captains as mentors to the junior anglers.

The winners are as follows:

1st place: Jack Hinck and Maverick Grant.

2nd place: Jaxon Kadlec and Tyler Wagoner.

3rd place: Brandon Helbock and Gavin Tatum.

4th place: Jacob Cobb and Logan Flynn.

All teams caught the limit of five fish. All fish were released back into the lake.

The club provided lunch for the participants and their families after the tournament.

Stephen Marin, President of the Jr. Bassmasters Club and the Riverside County High School Bassmasters Club, would like to thank the local merchants for their support and the donated food, the parents for their support and bringing the kids to the event and the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club for their sponsorship, supplying the boats, mentorship to the kids and for cooking the food.
