Cromwell wins Bassmasters Club’s monthly tournament

Fishing by himself, Nolan Cromwell reeled in first place in the Bassmasters Club’s monthly tournament on May 4. Nolan caught five fish weighing a total of 15.87 pounds. He also earned the title of “Big Fish of the Day” with a bass weighing 5.52 pounds.

Second place went to the team of Dave Brittenham and Shane Meisel with five fish weighing a total of 14.22 pounds.

The team of Travis Smith and Jim Wright came in third place with five fishing weighing a total of 13.93 pounds.

Ten boats participated in the tournament. There is a five fish limit. All fish were released back into the lake.

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Tournaments are typically held on the first Saturday of each month. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low-stress, friendly and competitive environment are invited to join.
