A three-run home run in the fourth inning of Temescal Canyon High School’s last game of the regular season on Apr. 25 helped the team score its first Ivy League Championship. TCHS’s last championship was in 2016. The team ended this season with 18 wins and 8 losses.
TCHS will play in the first round of the CIF Southern Section playoffs today, May 3, with a game against La Quinta High School at 3:15 p.m. at La Quinta. The playoffs are a single elimination tournament. If TCHS wins, they move on and play on Tuesday, May 7. If they lose, they are done for the season.
“We are a scrappy team that has done really well during the regular season and expect to continue that during the playoffs,” said head coach Neal Post. “I’m proud of the way our team has battled throughout the season and has overcome a lot of adversity to win the Ivy League Championship.”
