The POA Board of Directors and staff have received complaints related to guests bringing in non-motorizes vessels, such as kayaks and canoes, and using without a member present.
Beginning May 1, all non-motorized vessels will require a POA decal. Stand up paddle boards are excluded. Members must register their non-motorized vessels with the POA and pay a one-time $5 registration fee. The registration does not expire. The fine for not registering is $100.
The POA expects approximately 2,000 non-motorized vessels to be registered, producing a revenue of $10,000. The stickers cost the POA approximately 50 cents per sticker when purchased in bulk.
