Canyon Lakers named Player of the Week

Canyon Laker Andrew Villarreal was named Temescal Canyon High School baseball Player of the Week for week five of league play. Player of the Week for week six is Canyon Laker DJ Jones.

In week five, Andrew collected four hits in 10 at bats and stole a base. He singled in the game-tying run in the top of the 4th inning, helping his team win the game against Valley View on Mar. 12.

In the game against Valley View on Mar. 14, he drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 15th inning with a two-out, bases-loaded single.

In week six, DJ Jones was the driving offensive force in the win over Palm Desert with his two two-strike singles and a sacrifice fly, driving in a total of four RBIs.
