Pull-tabs wanted for Lions Club fundraiser

The Canyon Lake Lioness Club is in need of pull-tabs for a fundraising project to benefit the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House. Aluminum pull-tabs can be popped off of soda, beer, soup and other food cans. Lioness Club members will combine the donated pull-tabs with their own collection to take to the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House where they will be weighed and sold with the proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House.

Pull-tab donations are due by May 2 and may be given to any member of the Lioness Club or dropped off to Joanna Spiller at 23651 Cruise Circle Dr.

Dozens of families will be able to stay closer to their hospitalized children thanks to an expansion to the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House that added 33 new guest suites to meet the growing needs of more than 1,000 families served each year from areas that include Riverside, San Bernardino, Coachella Valley and beyond.

The Ronald McDonald House program began in 1974 based on a simple idea: Provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Since that time, more than 10 million families around the world have benefited from the comfort provided by a Ronald McDonald House.
