Here’s what’s happening at the library in March

Beginning Mar. 2, the Canyon Lake Library will participate in the In-N-Out Burger “Cover to Cover Club,” a reading program for children ages four to 12. To participate, children need to sign up for a reading log at the library.

Participants can earn an achievement award for every five books read at reading level. The achievement award is good for a free hamburger or cheeseburger at any In-N-Out Burger. Children who are too young to read may participate by having books read to them by their parent or guardian. Children may receive up to three award certificates during this six-week reading program that runs from Mar. 2 to Apr. 13.

The library offers a free Makerspace Craft Activity each month. Residents are invited to create a themed craft to take home. This month, the library will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Day.

The Knitting and Crochet Crafters program meets on the first and third Fridays of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. The part social, part educational program is open to new members of all skill levels and loaner tools and supplies are available.

Toddler Story Time, a program for children three and younger, will meet on Mar. 11 and 25 at 11 a.m. The every other Monday program provides an opportunity for children to meet other children while having fun listening to stories and making crafts.

Miss Ginny’s Story Time, a program for children ages three to five, will meet Mar. 1, 15 and 29 at 11:30 a.m. The program includes an interactive story, live music and movement activities.

Play Day will meet on Mar. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The program includes music and movement, crafts, playtime and light snacks.
