Letter: Causeway Closures

As residents living on the west side of Canyon Lake, we are greatly affected every time the north causeway is closed due to flooding.

At any given time, we’re never sure if it is closed or open.  If we had a quick simple way of reliably making that determination, it would be a big help in planning our daily local trips in and out of Canyon Lake.

Here’s my idea:  Mount a webcam on Fire Station 60, which sits adjacent to the north causeway, and make that live video is accessible to residents via Canyon Lake’s website.

The costs associated with a webcam these days is relatively inexpensive and would be a big help to residents living on either side of the north causeway.
