Community Award winners honored at Gala


More than 100 guests gathered in the Holiday Bay Room on Saturday for the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce’s 23rd annual Awards and Installation Gala honoring the Community Award winners and installation of the 2019 Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. The host of the evening was emcee extraordinaire Dave McCrory.

The Business of the Year award, sponsored by Jordan and Jennie Ehrenkranz, was presented to The Friday Flyer. The Citizen of the Year award, sponsored by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, was presented to Jordan Ehrenkranz. The Organization of the Year award, sponsored by Southern California Edison, was presented to the Fine Arts Guild. The Volunteer of the Year award, sponsored by Pack Wrap & Post and The Sports Stop Pub & Grill, was presented to Lyne Hall. The Youth of the Year, sponsored by The Sports Stop Pub & Grill and Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant and Cantina, was presented to Ryan Hosking.

The honorees were presented with an award from the chamber and proclamations from Senator Jeff Stone, State Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez and Riverside County 1st District Supervisor Kevin Jefferies.

Congressman Ken Calvert’s proclamations arrived after the event and were presented this week.

Dignitaries in attendance included District Director Glenn Miller and District Representative Debbie Herrera of Senator Jeff Stone’s office, 67th District Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, Riverside County 1st  District Supervisor Kevin Jeffries, 1st District Legislative Analyst Tricia Almiron, EVMWD Director Darcy Burke, Wildomar Councilman Ben Benoit, CLPOA Director Dale Welty and Canyon Lake City Council members Mayor Larry Greene, Mayor Pro-Tem Jordan Ehrenkranz, Councilman Jeremy Smith and Councilwoman Kasey Castillo.
