CL 9ers presents awards to outstanding players

The Canyon Lake 9ers Women’s Golf Club held its annual End of Year Brunch on Dec. 20 at the home of Linda Kielty, the club’s 2018 president. The women enjoyed a round of golf prior to brunch. Awards were presented to the outstanding 2018 players and the new members of the 2019 board were announced.

Kathy Voss was presented with the Most Improved award for 2018. The Gross Champion award went to Kathy Homewood and the Net Champion award was presented to Darlene Crinion. Rita Wacker was awarded Most Birdies and Betty Henry earned Most Chip-Ins.

The bunch also featured a special appreciation to outgoing board members, President Linda Kielty and Events and Tournament Chair Teresa Roberson, for their exceptional leadership to the 9ers for the past several years as they developed a platform of fun, as well as giving back to the community.

The 2019 board members are Sheryl Lewis, President; Mavis Schutz, Tournaments and Events Chair; Joanna Uhler, Treasurer; Janie Currey, Membership; Sandy Dawson, Secretary; Joanne Bellerive, Publicity; Kathy Voss, Liaison to Women’s Golf; and Kathy Homewood, Handicap.

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. Women who are interested in playing golf and making new friends are invited to play; all levels of golfers are welcome. The club meets on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club and tee off at 10 a.m.
