The Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS) continues to raise money throughout the year to fund its philanthropic activities. Nothing is more important to the CLAMS membership than knowing that the money the members raise is going to improve the lives of children and those in need.

On Dec. 12, the CLAMS presented a $200 check to Helping Our People of Elsinore (HOPE), an organization formed in 1990 to help meet the needs in the community. More than 1,500 people (600 families) turn to HOPE weekly for food and personal items. Randy Schutz presented the check on behalf of the CLAMS.

The CLAMS donated a new Lenova laptop to the Loma Linda Children’s Hospital Child Life Cancer Unit in November. The laptops aid the children in their efforts to keep up with their school studies during their stay in the hospital. The laptop was presented by Tom  D’Amato and his wife Janet.

In October, the CLAMS presented a $200 donation to the Helping Hands Group, an organization that assists low-income seniors with food and other needs. The donation was presented to Robert Sasser by Harry Larsen, Mark Inkrote and Bud Hanner.

The CLAMS also presented a $200 donation to the Canyon Lake Veterans Day Committee in October. President Harry Larsen present the check to committee Chair Vicki Warren. “Many of our members are veterans so we continue to recognize and thank those who gave so much for our freedom,” said CLAMS Vice President Mark Inkrote.

The CLAMS is a non-profit organization that has been in existence for more than 40 years. Membership is open to all Canyon Lake men who have a desire for friendship, volunteering, fundraising and fun times.
