Choraleers spreads cheer with holiday concert

The Canyon Lake Choraleers presented their first evening concert last Friday in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. It was the group’s first evening concert and final 2018 performance.

“Let it Snow” featured a stunning multi-media presentation, a 30-voice choir and selected video clips with instruments. The concert was directed by Lorilee Bajema and featured such holiday favorites as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty the Snowman” and “The First Noel.”

The audience was invited to sing along to “Silent Night” and the final song, “Silver Bells,” featuring Larry Garland and JC Taylor.

The Choraleers were accompanied by Lynda Salina on the piano, Kylene Evans on the harp, David Ruch on the violin, Ron Williams on the trumpet and Rich Rahn on the drums.

An opportunity drawing for a chance to win eight baskets ranging from $60 to $125 was held during intermission.

The Choraleers is a vocal group of men and women who enjoy singing in a choral group that performs spring and fall concerts, including combinations of selected singers and solo performances.

Membership includes more than 35 men and women as well as a director and pianist. Membership is open to residents and individuals in nearby communities.
