Chamber solicits Community Awards nominations

There are just a few weeks left to submit your nominations for the annual Community Awards. The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce encourages the community to nominate individuals, clubs and businesses who made a difference in Canyon Lake in 2018. A committee of chamber members will select the winners from the submitted nominations and recognize them at the chamber’s 23rd annual Awards Gala and Installation Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at 6 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Nominations are due on or before Dec. 28.

Nominations are open now in the following categories:

Volunteer of the Year: An individual who has made a significant difference in the community through volunteerism.

Citizen of the Year: An individual who has enhanced the quality of life in Canyon Lake through outstanding community involvement.

Business of the Year: A chamber member who provides exemplary customer service and superior products while supporting the Canyon Lake business community.

Organization of the Year: A nonprofit organization or association whose programs of work have made a positive impact on the community.

Youth of the Year: A Canyon Lake student who has exhibited academic excellence while being involved in the community and participating in school activities.

Residents who wish to submit a nomination should complete the nomination form and mail it to the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce at 31566 Railroad Canyon Rd., Canyon Lake, or drop it off at the chamber office on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. or at Pack, Wrap and Post between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The community is invited to attend the Gala in support of the chamber and honorees. Gala tickets are $50 and include dinner. The chamber is seeking sponsors and opportunity drawing prizes for this event.
