The Canyon Lake Chronic Illness Support Group will hold its next meeting on Monday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the senior center. Teens, adults and seniors are welcome. The group provides the opportunity to share and receive support from others who have chronic conditions, whether from illness or physical issues.

The meeting is done in a positive and safe format and often addressed by professional speakers in the health field.

Canyon Lake resident Steven Prince formed the group in March for Canyon Lake residents who experience chronic, physical or medical challenges. He formed the group to bring together individuals who have similar issues so they may benefit from mutual support in a safe environment. Steven suffered a total of five strokes from May 2014 to October 2015. The strokes have left him with impaired mobility and memory, vision and hearing challenges.

The group provides a forum for participants to share the challenges they confront in their lives as a result of their chronic conditions. “No one knows these challenges better than those confronting similar issues,” said Steven.
