Bassmasters announce tournament winners

Nine teams participated in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club monthly fishing tournament on Oct. 6 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The team of Nolan Cromwell and Dale Britt took first place with a total fish weight of 14.41 pounds. Jim Wright and Joe Merrill placed second with a total fish weight of 10.88 pounds. The team of Dave Brittenham and Jack Smith reeled in third place with a total fish weight of 9.95 pounds.

Dale Britt caught a bass weighing 3.40 pounds, earning the title of “Big Fish of the Day.”

All fish were released back into the lake.

The Bassmasters Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. Tournaments are typically held on the first Saturday of each month. Residents who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a low stress, friendly competitive environment are invited to join.
