Honor veteran with flag in Field of Honor

Each year around Veterans Day residents are given the opportunity to honor a loved one who served in the military with a flag in the Field of Honor at the Veterans Memorial Park in the Canyon Lake Towne Center. Each flag bears a yellow ribbon with the name of the veteran on it. The names of the veterans will be announced during the 10th annual Canyon Lake Veterans Celebration on Nov. 10.

Flags cost $10 each and can be purchased at Pack, Wrap and Post in the Towne Center and at Canyon Lake City Hall. The deadline to purchase a flag is Nov. 8.

Volunteers will place the 200 flags in the Veterans Memorial Park where they will remain on display until Nov. 18. Residents who wish to pick up their flags and take them home may do so between Nov. 13 and Nov. 17. Flags left at the park will be removed on Nov. 18.
