Lions Club serving up pancakes this Sunday

The Canyon Lake Lions Club invites the community to enjoy breakfast by the lake at its annual Pancake Breakfast this Sunday, Sept. 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park.

The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, juice, coffee and tea for a $6 donation per person. Kids under the age of five eat free. Bloody Mary and Mimosa adult drinks also will be offered.

Cub Scout Troop 346 will be assisting the Lions in raising donations for its White Cane Project. The project raises funds to purchase eyeglasses for those in need.

Breakfast tickets can be purchased at Holiday Harbor on the day of the event, from any Lions Club member, or by calling Joanna Spiller at 951-244-1553.

Formed Jan. 23, 1975, the Lions Club is one of the oldest clubs in Canyon Lake. Its members collect used eyeglasses to aid in the organization’s goal to help those with sight problems. The club supports the Lions Clubs International Foundation whose mission is to eradicate blindness and solve major humanitarian challenges worldwide.

Those interested in joining the club are welcome to attend a meeting. The club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Sunset Beach Room at the lodge.
