After Lunch Bunch

Twenty-four players participated in last week’s game of Three Best Balls of the Foursome. The results are as follows:

1st place: Bob Stinson, Nick Valencia, Chuck Hudson and Jim Paulis, 195.

2nd place: Sam Theodora, Walt Popper, Marv Tweedy and Sven Henrichsen, 196.

The four winners of the Skins competition are Darrell Hartzell on holes 2 and 16, Dave Nickel on hole 10 and Oscar Rowland on hole 18.

Bob Stinson was awarded two sleeves of golf balls for being closest to the pin on holes 8 and 11. Nick Valencia won one sleeve for his shot on hole 15.

Now in its 38th year, the After Lunch Bunch offers a friendly game of golf every Friday throughout the year and an annual tournament in November. Entries are open to male golfers with an established handicap.

The entry fee is $5 with an optional Skins game for $5. Signups are taken between 6:30 and 7:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club or by phone at 951-249-4565 or 951-237-6102. Tee time is 8 a.m.

Women’s Golf Club

The Women’s Golf Club is a member of Southern California Golf Association. The club meets on Tuesdays in the Magnolia Room at the country club between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. to tee off at 8 a.m. for 18 holes of golf.

The club’s mission is promoted through camaraderie, social events, recognition and tournaments throughout the year. Major tournaments and events include the Presidents Cup, Club Championship, Senior Championship and Breast Cancer Tournament.

The club strives to be a source of pride and enjoyment for all members. Other women in the community are invited to participate in all the club has to offer. For more information, contact President Ura Furry at 951-244-1910.

Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club promotes the sport of golf bringing together men, women and juniors in an atmosphere of education, camaraderie, fairness and competition in a friendly family oriented environment. The club hosts beginner and youth clinics, tournaments and social events throughout the year. The club’s official golf day is Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m. Some members schedule golf days on Mondays, Fridays or Saturdays at 11:30 a.m.

The tournament director works closely with Golf Pro Pat Kemball and his staff to assure tournaments are balanced. Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association. Annual Memberships

Annual golf memberships for Canyon Lake residents are $59 per month for juniors 17 years and younger, $109 per month for ages 18 to 35 and $167 for ages 36 and older. Annual family memberships are $296 per month. Memberships include unlimited green fees, access to practice facility, discounts at the Golf Shop, access to Junior Golf programs, access to clubs and leagues, access to instructional lessons and clinics and members can bring a guest to play.

Adult Golf Lessons

The golf professional staff offers adult golf lessons seven days a week. Lessons are $50 for a 30-minute lesson, $75 for a one-hour lesson, $210 for three one-hour lessons and $300 for five one-hour lessons. Reservations are required. Junior Golf Lessons

Junior golf lessons are available for children ages seven to 17. Lessons are $35 per a 30-minute lesson. Reservations are taken at the Golf Pro Shop.

Golf Pro Shop

The Golf Pro Shop at the country club features the latest in golf clubs from Ping, Mizuno, Callaway and Titleist. It also stocks Nike, EP Pro, Antigua and Foot Joy golf apparel. Canyon Lake Property Owner’s Association members receive a 20 percent discount on women’s and men’s apparel.

Men’s Golf Club

Members of the Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club meet for play every Wednesday morning. Signups are taken between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. in the Magnolia Room at the country club. In addition to Wednesday games, the club sponsors eight major tournaments throughout the year. Dues include membership in the Southern California Golf Association. Canyon Lake residents and property owners age 18 and older and any member of the public who purchases an outside annual golf membership are eligible to join the club. 9ers Golf Club

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. Ladies who are interested in playing golf and making new friends are invited to play; all levels of golfers are welcome.
