Woman’s Club to honor Wounded Heroes of America

The Woman’s Club invites women in the community to join in honoring Wounded Heroes of America and Wreaths Across America during the club’s monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Attendees are asked to wear red, white and blue.

Guests are invited to shop during vendor hour starting at 9 a.m. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12 p.m. Lunch is optional. The cost of lunch is $14, $15 if paid by credit card. Those with permanent reservations must remake them again for this year as they do not run from year to year. For reservations, contact Kathy Ray at 858-449-7297 or email canyonlakewomansclub@gmail.com.

In October, a representative from the Salvation Army will speak to the group. The club will host its annual auction in November. Jeannette Williams will serve as auctioneer.

In December, the ladies will be treated to a Christmas program that includes a sing-a-long. Dermatologist Dr. Shen will speak to the group about skin cancer prevention in January.

Founded in 1972, the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club is a non-profit, non-partisan, philanthropic service group dedicated to helping others less fortunate. Events are held throughout the year to raise money for local charities and scholarships for girls and women who reside in Canyon Lake. In June 2018, the Woman’s Club gave away more than $40,000 to local charities and in the form of scholarships.
