Ski Club to host tourney

The Canyon Lake Ski Club is hosting a three-event tournament on Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 16. Slalom and jump competitions will be held on Saturday, slalom and trick competitions will be held on Sunday. Competitions will be held at the north ski area and jump lagoon.

On Oct. 6 and Oct. 7, the club is hosting a Slalom Tournament.

Start time for all tournaments is 8 a.m. Skiers compete in age and male/female divisions. Most skiers are annual members of USA Water Ski, but a novice skier may sign up for a temporary membership just to ski in a tournament. 

Entry fees are based on the number of events and rides requested by the participant.

The Canyon Lake Ski Club is comprised of water skiers of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. The club hosts several ski competitions and community events throughout the year, including Breakfast with Santa, Polar Bear Day and Learn to Ski Day. The Ski Club was formed in 1970 and is the largest 3-event USA Water Ski sanctioned club in the U.S. Membership applications can be downloaded from the club’s website at canyonlakeskiclub.com.
