Seventy-six golfers participated in the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club 19th annual Breast Cancer Tournament on Aug. 14. Golfers were encouraged to wear pink and decorate their carts. A highlight of the afternoon was honoring the breast cancer survivors who played in the tournament.
For the sixth year, proceeds from the tournament were donated to Michelle’s Place, a breast cancer resource center in Temecula that provides women with assistance in finding a doctor, support groups, wigs, prostheses, educational seminars and more. All services are at no cost. The tournament raised $5,046 for the center.
The tournament winners are as follows:
Ladies 1st place:
Kim Robinson, Barbie Spencer, Sheryl Fine and Victoria Shankland.
Ladies 2nd place:
Babette Stubbs, Janet Marquardt, Diane Faris and Mary Leathley.
Ladies 3rd place:
Linda Kamashian, Gail McCall, Barbara Spraul and Rita Wacker.
Couples 1st place:
Rick Halsey, K.K. Beecher, Judy Kim and Gil Kim.
Couples 2nd place:
Kathy Homewood, Jon Evans, Kathy Voss and Terry Voss.
Men’s 1st place:
Shannon Vandruff, Philip Coughlin, Don Raworth and Dave Carlson.
A lunch catered by the country club and a raffle with 48 prizes followed golf. The afternoon concluded with awards.
