Chicago tribute band will rock lodge Saturday

The Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild will present its Chicago tribute concert tomorrow, Aug. 25, at the lodge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., concert starts at 7 p.m. The eight-piece band, “Kenny Cetera’s Chicago Experience,” is one of the few rock groups consisting of guitars, drums and a horn section for one of the most robust musical experiences presented by the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild.

The VIP section and all seats sold at the POA office are already sold out. The remaining General Admission tickets are $25. Those planning to attend should check availability on the Fine Arts Guild website at canyonlakeguild.com.

“Kenny Cetera’s Chicago Experience” will feature the music of the iconic super group Chicago. The audience will be treated to all-time favorites such as “Does Anybody Know What Time It Is,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “25 or 6 to 4,” “Feeling Stronger Every Day,” “Hard Habit to Break” and many more of the groups hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Kenny is a former member of Chicago, personally touring with the group and as a vocalist on Chicago 17, Chicago’s best selling album. Chicago lead singer Peter Cetera explains, “I brought my brother Kenny into the group to help sing harmonies and play percussion, keyboard and drums. Unlike other tribute bands, he was actually on stage as a performing part of the original band.” Kenny has also recorded with Richard Marx, Kenny Rogers, Julio Iglesias, Agnethna Faltskog (of ABBA) and producer David Foster.

Being a former backup member of Chicago and brother to Chicago’s former lead singer gives Kenny a leg up on other Chicago tribute bands. Though they may not all be former members of Chicago, Kenny is confident that his show is the next best thing to seeing the original band in concert.
